The GIMARC Research Group was established to study all matters related to conflict and potential avenues for resolution—particularly extrajudicial methods—from a cross-cutting and interdisciplinary perspective. Research is conducted with a broad scope, enabling the study of conflict through the various branches of scientific knowledge involved, as well as an analysis of current legal regulations, historical precedents, and underlying philosophical foundations. It also incorporates legal expertise through collaboration with professionals from various fields, who contribute practical insights into the application of current regulations at both the national and regional levels.

The main objectives of the GIMARC Research Group are:

1. To foster the exchange of experiences among research groups, academics, and practicing professionals, contributing to an analysis of the advantages and disadvantages associated with conflict resolution.

2. To promote forums for debate among various universities regarding the study of conflict and the resolution mechanisms available for settling disputes.

3. To drive national and international partnerships aimed at transferring knowledge to society and the academic community.

4. To establish a Permanent Research Seminar on Conflict, creating a space for broad discussion on the causes and consequences of conflict, as well as existing resolution methods, while examining historical precedents and other related aspects.

5. To coordinate the publication of research findings in journals or monographs.
